RF & Electrical Engineering Intern
About The Position
As an intern at MACOM, you will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers throughout your internship. Our team is mostly committed to helping you grow professionally, answer your questions, and ensuring you have a rewarding but also highly challenging experience. This is a summer internship position working with the millimeter-wave module design team at MACOM’s Northampton, MA Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will be a student working towards a BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. The project is threefold: Creation of a procedure for 3D printing of RF absorptive materials, designing fixtures to measure the materials parameters, and measurement of the materials at various millimeter-wave frequencies.
Requirements
- Student working towards a BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with Solidworks™ or Auto CAD™ for designing fixtures
- Familiarity with Ansys HFSS™ for simulation of RF performance
- Measurement of RF parameters in a connectorized or waveguide environment using network analyzers and related test equipment
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes
- Mathematical and data analysis using tools such as MATLAB or Python
- Creation of schematics and BOM’s
- Analysis and comparison of measurement and modeling data
