About The Position

The Test Engineer is responsible for executing RF device characterization measurements, developing test methods, analyzing data, and supporting new product development activities. This role works closely with design, product, and applications engineering teams to evaluate device performance, troubleshoot measurement issues, and ensure high-quality characterization data is delivered on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in RF test engineering, device characterization, or semiconductor product development.
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals including S-parameters, gain compression, load pull, efficiency, harmonics, ACPR, and modulation measurements.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test instrumentation including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
  • Experience with RF load pull systems and power amplifier characterization.
  • Experience developing automated test solutions and data analysis tools using Python, Excel VBA, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing assignments with limited supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF semiconductor technologies such as GaN, GaAs, SOI, or silicon-based devices.
  • Experience with on-wafer RF measurements and calibration techniques.
  • Familiarity with pulsed IV characterization and nonlinear device testing.
  • Experience working in a semiconductor characterization or product development laboratory.
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis and database-driven measurement systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute characterization test plans for RF semiconductor devices.
  • Perform RF measurements including S-parameters, load pull, pulsed RF, power sweep, harmonics, ACPR, and modulation testing.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain RF test equipment including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, source measure units, and load pull systems.
  • Analyze measurement data and prepare technical reports summarizing device performance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, instrumentation, and measurement-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain automated test and data analysis tools using Python, Excel VBA, MATLAB, or similar programming languages.
  • Support on-wafer and fixtured RF characterization activities.
  • Collaborate with design and product engineering teams to investigate device performance and resolve technical issues.
  • Document test procedures, calibration methods, and characterization results.
  • Assist in the development of new measurement techniques, test fixtures, and laboratory capabilities.
