About The Position

The Reworker is responsible for inspecting product quality and identifying defects during the production process. This position works after the freezer and monitors product as it moves along the conveyor line. The Reworker removes defective product, foreign material, and improperly formed pieces to ensure quality standards are met. This role is also responsible for reworking product that can be returned to the production process, such as open bags, improperly sealed bags, soft product, and other recoverable product. The temperature in this area is approximately 55°F.

Requirements

  • Ability to identify product quality defects and follow established quality standards.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds as required.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with temperatures around 55°F.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and shoulders.
  • Must provide government identification number to verify previous Tyson employment history.
  • Applicants cannot have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times.
  • Accepts rehires after 180 days (Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal).
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Previous food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect product as it passes along the conveyor belt for quality defects.
  • Remove improperly formed pieces, partial pieces, damaged product, or other non-conforming product and place it in designated containers.
  • Identify and remove bones, foreign material, or contaminants and immediately notify the Supervisor or Group Leader of any findings.
  • Remove overlapping product to ensure proper product presentation and packaging.
  • Inspect bags for proper seals, leveling, and package integrity.
  • Rework eligible product, including open bags, improperly sealed bags, soft product, and other recoverable products by returning them to the appropriate stage of the production process.
  • Maintain product quality standards and follow all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
