About The Position

This position involves taking a roll of fabric and rewinding it to remove a problem or break it down into smaller rolls to meet customer quality or quantity requirements. The operator will be responsible for threading the machine, running rolls to desired lengths, wrapping and identifying finished rolls, and conducting quality checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience as a machine operator preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Rewind large rolls by threading up the machine and running rolls to customers desired lengths.
• Wrap and identify finished rolls of fabric and bundle or palletize if required.
• Tag rolls for identification.
• Rewind rolls on hold by threading up and running roll to the area of flaw, remove flaw by splicing it if required.
• Conduct quality checks on material as required.
• Clean up, sweep area around the machine including the main aisle.
• Bundle and bail scrap material.
• Wear safety shoes and hearing protection at all times.
