The Rewind Technician is responsible for setting up and operating multiple machines used to rewind film from master rolls onto specified cores and lengths. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Computer competency required for machine operation, data entry, and reporting
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to use measurement tools and calculation devices as needed
  • Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and identify solutions

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine setup, verify settings, and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation and product specifications are met.
  • Conduct pre-production checks to confirm machines are operating in the correct mode.
  • Identify and troubleshoot non-conforming conditions, determining root causes related to equipment, materials, or processes.
  • Move raw materials and finished goods both physically and within system tracking tools.
  • Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and material tracking.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and control components.
  • Adjust or replace parts as needed to restore equipment to required operating standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and safe machine operation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with team standards.
  • Comply with all food safety policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret customer specifications to ensure product compliance.
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust equipment controls to maintain quality and productivity standards.
  • Load and mount master rolls, thread film through machines, and manage rewind operations.
  • Splice rolls together to maximize material usage and minimize waste.
  • Load cores manually or via automated feeders as required.
  • Inspect product quality, including using a microscope to verify laser-perforation specifications.
  • Record production and traceability data accurately in designated systems (e.g., Excel logs).
  • Label completed rolls and package them according to requirements (e.g., cartons or Gaylord boxes).
