About The Position

Belmark is seeking Rewind Operators to operate rewind equipment and produce high-quality products according to customer specifications. The role involves rewinding labels from press rolls into smaller rolls, inspecting labels for quality, identifying products accurately, and completing required paperwork. Operators may also bundle labels or tags and fanfold labels. The position requires following safety procedures and food-safety requirements, meeting minimum operating standards, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The role offers AM or PM shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, three days on and four days off, with consistent hours and no swing shift. Overtime is available after 36 hours. A pre-employment drug test and background check are required if offered the position.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to two years of high school.
• Knowledge of and ability to effectively use the English language.
• Ability to set up and operate a rewind machine using a ruler, calculator, Allen wrench, and screwdriver.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Nearly constant concentration and attention to detail are required.
• Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, identify and distinguish colors, and observe an area up, down, left, or right while keeping the eyes fixed on a given point.
• Ability to stand for 75% of work time, stoop, kneel, or crouch for 20%, and walk for 5%.
• Ability to use hands for 100% of work time and feet to operate machines for 50%.
• Ability to lift 10 pounds or less for 60% of work time, 25 pounds or less for 25%, and 50 pounds or less for 15%; may be asked to lift 70 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Follow all required safety procedures and adhere to Safe Quality Foods requirements to support a food-safety culture.
• Set up the rewind machine.
• Calculate the number of labels needed per roll or bundle.
• Rewind labels according to job instructions.
• Meet or exceed the minimum operating standards for individual output.
• Inspect labels and remove defective items.
• Identify product with accurate information.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including packing slips.
• Keep the work area and machine clean and organized.
• Bundle labels or tags as needed.
• Fanfold labels as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
