About The Position

The Rewind Operator is responsible for keeping the rewinders up and running. This role also involves backing up the rewind operator and performing other assigned tasks. The position requires a full understanding of all phases of label production, including art, press, and finishing capabilities. The operator will receive job assignments, review job specifications, select appropriate cores and rewind methods, and ensure all finishing, packaging, and shipping specifications are met by reviewing job jackets. Quality control is a key aspect, involving inspection of products for quality integrity, observation of material flow through the machine for cutting and winding irregularities, and ensuring the quality of work includes color, size, die cut, perforations, print, and quantity of packaged items. The role also includes assisting in converting jobs, performing preventative maintenance on machines, replacing blades on inspection machines, completing job paperwork, packaging finished goods, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
