This is a Revenue Specialist III position in the General Tax Administration Program's, Receivables Management, Field Operations - Collections Process located in the Lake City Service Center. The incumbent contacts taxpayers to resolve tax liabilities and coordinates the filing and enforcement actions for Department of Revenue taxes. The incumbent also executes levies, garnishments and transferee liabilities, issues subpoenas, prepares legal affidavits, performs physical asset inventory, secures legal service of documents, and recommends agency actions.

Requirements

  • Eighteen months of experience working with accounts receivables/payables, banking, or collections.
  • Male candidates born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with the Selective Services System (SSS) before their 26th birthday or have a Letter of Registration Exemption from the SSS.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years of experience as a customer service professional in an office environment utilizing telephones, email, or written correspondence can substitute for the required work experience.
  • A college education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semesters or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required eighteen months of experience working with accounts receivables/payables, banking, or collections.
  • Candidates eligible for Veterans’ Preference will receive preference in employment for Career Service vacancies and are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates claiming Veterans’ Preference must attach supporting documentation with each submission that includes character of service (for example, DD Form 214 Member Copy #4) along with any other documentation as required by Rule 55A-7, Florida Administrative Code.
