Revenue Operations Accounting Manager

BestowDallas, TX
$120,000 - $155,000Remote

About The Position

Bestow is seeking a Revenue Operations Accounting Manager to join its Finance team. This role will be embedded in the commercial process before contracts are signed, focusing on contract review, deal structuring guidance, commercial governance, and the quote-to-cash intake process. The position reports to the Controller and works alongside the Revenue Accounting Manager. This role will help establish workflows and documentation for the revenue operations and deal desk function, working closely with the Controller, Revenue Accounting Manager, and cross-functional partners. The company utilizes a mix of homegrown and commercial systems.

Requirements

  • CPA with 6+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a deal desk, contract review, or revenue operations accounting capacity at a SaaS company.
  • Fluent enough in accounting to identify issues and structure deals around them, not necessarily a technical accountant.
  • Hands-on deal desk experience: you've reviewed contracts in flight, advised Sales during negotiations, and can articulate accounting positions clearly to non-accountants under time pressure.
  • Builder mindset: you've designed processes in prior roles, including deal review playbooks, intake workflows, and approval matrices, and you're comfortable doing it again where the answer isn't given and best practice has to be introduced, not inherited.
  • Working understanding of SaaS business metrics (ARR, NRR, bookings, renewals) and how deal structure and contract terms affect them.
  • Fluent in usage-based and hybrid billing models, SSP allocation, principal vs. agent analysis, variable consideration, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangement accounting.
  • Operationally minded senior contributor: understand where the gaps live between Sales and Accounting, and know how to close them independently, without direct reports.
  • Commercial instincts: you understand how B2B SaaS enterprise deals are structured and where revenue recognition complexity hides.
  • Solution-oriented and collaborative: you build trust with Sales, Sales Operations, and Finance and move deals forward.
  • Demonstrated history of using AI and automation in financial operations; comfortable working with AI tools day-to-day.
  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or mid-tier) and SaaS industry experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CPQ/CRM tools and billing systems (e.g. Salesforce, NetSuite) strongly preferred; familiarity with Tableau and BigQuery a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the accounting seat in the deal desk, including reviewing MSAs, order forms, SOWs, and amendments before execution for revenue recognition implications.
  • Identify and escalate ASC 606 issues in active deals: multi-element arrangements, performance obligation identification, standalone selling price (SSP) allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, non-standard cancellation and refund provisions, SLA credits, and principal vs. agent questions.
  • Advise Sales, Legal, and Strategic Finance on deal structure in real time, surfacing accounting risk early and proposing structures that achieve commercial goals without creating downstream complexity.
  • Build from scratch the deal review workflows, approval thresholds for non-standard terms, deal checklists, and documentation standards that don't currently exist at scale.
  • Serve as the business partner who translates accounting requirements into commercial language. Solution-oriented, not a compliance gate.
  • Own the handoff from executed contract to accounting and billing system setup, ensuring contract terms are accurately translated into billing configurations and subscription structures.
  • Partner with Sales Operations on CRM/CPQ and billing system accuracy.
  • Manage the operational workflow for contract amendments, renewals, and upsells, ensuring changes are reflected accurately and on time across systems.
  • Build and maintain contract intake processes and documentation standards that give the Revenue Accounting Manager a clean, accurate handoff for close and billing operations.
  • Act as the primary accounting partner to Sales, Sales Operations, Strategic Finance, and Legal; embedded in commercial decision-making, not reporting on it after the fact.
  • Work closely with your GTM counterpart (Sales Operations Manager) to align on deal structure, pricing mechanics, and the operational handoffs that keep quote-to-cash running smoothly.
  • Support the Controller and Revenue Accounting Manager with revenue recognition context on complex deals during close and audit, and support Strategic Finance with SaaS business metrics implications.
  • Contribute to commercial governance policies, non-standard terms guidance, and cross-functional training as deal volume and complexity grow.

  • Competitive salary and equity based on role
  • Policies and managers that support work/life balance, like our flexible paid time off and parental leave programs
  • 100% paid-premium option for medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Lifestyle stipend to support your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing
