About The Position
DaVita is seeking an analytically minded, ambitious, and team-oriented teammate to research and resolve insurance claims and collect payment on outstanding patient balances. The role works with insurance payers on behalf of patients, primarily by phone and also through email and insurance carrier portals. The teammate identifies trends and root causes in unpaid or underpaid claims, appeals and resolves claim rejections, underpayments, and denials, and builds positive working relationships with clinical personnel, teammates, and insurance representatives. The posting also describes the position as a Patient Account Specialist and Patient Account Representative.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to research and solve problems using analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Intermediate computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated history of resolving challenging issues.
- Strong alignment with teamwork and DaVita's Core Values.

- Healthcare and medical billing or collections experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurance companies and representatives.
- Collect payment from insurance companies on outstanding patient balances and maximize collections to meet performance goals.
- Research and resolve problem accounts.
- Identify trends and perform root cause analysis on unpaid and underpaid claims.
- Research, appeal, and resolve claim rejections, underpayments, and denials with the appropriate insurance payer.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clinical personnel and teammates.
