Requirements

  • Experience with Charge Description Master (CDM) management.
  • Experience with CPT/HCPCS coding and billing processes.
  • Experience analyzing Epic work/error queue data and performing root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with healthcare policy, regulatory, and financial issues.
  • Ability to research and report changes to coding and billing rules and regulations.
  • Ability to coordinate with hospital department administrators and provide guidance to clinical departments.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for assigned service lines and in collaboration with the team, performs reviews related to Charge Description Master (CDM) integrity.
  • Involved in the CDM management of dept/division specific initiatives.
  • Coordinates with team to implement and standardize charge capture corrective measures and monitoring to ensure effectiveness of charge changes.
  • Assists in creation of Revenue Integrity and CDM Management procedures and training materials.
  • In conjunction with Revenue Integrity team, process quarterly and yearly CPT/HCPCS changes impacting the CDM.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide analysis and recommendations regarding CDM policies and procedures.
  • Research and report changes to coding and billing rules and regulations by utilizing appropriate reference materials, internet sources, seminars and publications. Executes on work plans to adapt systems and processes to accommodate changes.
  • Evaluate current charging and coding structures and processes in clinical departments to ensure appropriate capture and reporting of revenue and compliance with government and third-party payor requirements.
  • Support Revenue Integrity team that participate in projects related to revenue cycle initiatives.
  • Analyzes Epic work/error que data and performs root cause analysis. Executes on work plans to correct identified deficiencies. Prepares and presents findings in standard presentation to Sr Revenue Integrity Analyst and Manager.
  • Assist and monitor department charge reconciliation education and training.
  • Monitor payer websites for coverage determinations impacting CDM and charge capture workflows.
  • Coordinates with hospital department administrators to implement internal controls when charging errors are identified.
  • Provides guidance to departments on correct charge capture, CPT/HCPCS coding and billing processes to multiple clinical departments.
  • Analyzes assigned work/error que data and performs root cause analysis.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional literature to keep abreast of the latest health care policy, regulatory, and financial issues.
