About The Position

Talley Eye Institute is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to provide leadership for the Billing department within our growing multi-specialty Ophthalmology practice. We are seeking an experienced leader who can effectively manage a high-performing revenue cycle team while building on its strengths, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the continued growth of the practice. This position works closely with the Chief Financial Officer, physicians, department leaders, and our third-party revenue cycle partner.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of progressive revenue cycle experience in a physician practice.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, reimbursement, and payer requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational challenges, develop practical solutions, and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Ophthalmology experience is strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the Revenue Cycle Department.
  • Manage and develop a team of approximately 17 employees.
  • Improve workflows and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
  • Monitor key revenue cycle performance indicators, including Days in Accounts Receivable, denial trends, collections, productivity, and other operational metrics.
  • Oversee insurance verification, prior authorizations, injection readiness, patient assistance programs, patient collections, financial counseling, and credentialing activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the practice's third-party revenue cycle partner, monitoring accounts receivable performance, identifying trends, resolving complex issues, and ensuring established performance expectations are met.
  • Analyze revenue cycle trends and recommend operational improvements that enhance both financial performance and the patient experience.
  • Foster and continue to build a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Chief Financial Officer and Revenue Cycle team to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions that strengthen department performance.
  • Working manager who assists with revenue cycle operations as needed and serves as a resource for staff in resolving day-to-day operational issues.
