About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the hospital’s revenue cycle operations. This position is responsible for analyzing performance metrics, ensuring compliance with payer regulations, developing and delivering staff training, and leading process improvement initiatives. The analyst collaborates across departments to enhance financial outcomes and operational efficiency while maintaining regulatory integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, compliance, or analytics.
  • Experience in Excel, and revenue cycle systems (e.g., SSI, Meditech).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.).
  • All new employees working must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment (unless the new hire has requested and received an exemption).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze revenue cycle reports and dashboards (e.g., denials, AR days, cash collections, payer mix).
  • Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement using data-driven insights.
  • Present findings to leadership and recommend actionable strategies.
  • Monitor payer guidelines and regulatory changes (e.g., CMS, Medicaid, commercial payers).
  • Ensure billing, coding, and reimbursement practices align with current regulations.
  • Support internal reviews and assist in resolving compliance-related issues.
  • Design and deliver training programs for revenue cycle staff on compliance, system updates, and process changes.
  • Serve as a resource for departmental education on payer requirements and documentation standards.
  • Maintain training materials and update them regularly based on regulatory changes.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce denials, and improve revenue capture.
  • Collaborate with Patient Financial Services, HIM, and clinical departments to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
