About The Position

Transplant medical biller is responsible for managing complex transplant accounts receivable and reimbursement activities across all phases of the transplant lifecycle, including evaluation, pre‑transplant, transplant, and post‑transplant follow‑up. This role supports a high‑volume transplant program and requires deep knowledge of transplant billing, payer contracts, case rates, and denial management. The position focuses on high‑dollar, high‑complexity cases and works closely with clinical teams, financial services, and payers to ensure accurate billing, timely follow‑up, and maximum reimbursement. This is not a patient‑facing collections role. Must have prior experience with both hospital and physician billing in the transplant specialization.

Requirements

  • prior experience with both hospital and physician billing in the transplant specialization
  • Hands‑on experience with transplant packet submission and review
  • Knowledge of donor harvesting workflows and billing (HB & PB)
  • Experience supporting payer appeals related to transplant services
  • Familiarity with EPIC and integrated hospital billing systems
  • Ability to manage complex, multi‑layered cases independently
  • Hospital revenue cycle experience strongly preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree
