About The Position

The Revenue Capture & Audit Registered Nurse (RN) will maintain charge capture for Surginet/Allegra using a working knowledge of Lawson and Surginet systems. This role involves maintaining nomenclature for Surginet chargemaster line items, assisting in developing and maintaining surgical supply charges, reviewing and approving changes to the Surginet chargemaster, providing monthly reports on identified and resolved issues, and performing chart auditing for correct documentation and charge entry. The RN will also provide regulatory and compliance expertise for Surginet, including maintaining appropriate revenue codes, researching and resolving compliance issues, evaluating and tracking charge revisions, and assisting with pricing of Surginet line items and new P-files. Additionally, the position requires proactive audits of the Surginet system focusing on charge capture and revenue opportunities, annual compliance and line item reviews, coordinating corrective actions, and providing charge capture activities for optimal compliance and reimbursement. Special projects may include assisting with OR Director or Manager requests regarding Surginet and educating new and existing staff on Surginet functionality.

Requirements

  • Experience with Surginet database.
  • Licensed nurse.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a hospital surgical setting.
  • Self-directed, minimal supervision required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Surginet charge capture.
  • Computer skills, i.e. word, excel and database software.
  • Current Illinois nursing licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain charge capture for Surginet/Allegra using a working knowledge of Lawson and Surginet systems.
  • Maintain nomenclature for Surginet chargemaster line items.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining all surgical supply charges in coordination with materials manager, revenue compliance and Surginet information systems.
  • Review and approve all requests for Surginet charge master or p-file changes.
  • Provide monthly reports on all issues identified and resolved.
  • Chart auditing for correct documentation and charge entry.
  • Provide Regulatory and Compliance expertise for Surginet.
  • Maintain appropriate line items revenue codes.
  • Provide research and problem resolution relating to any line items that may have a regulatory or compliance issue.
  • Evaluate, submit and track updated revisions for all charges related to Surginet system.
  • Assist OR Manager, Materials Manager and team leaders with pricing of Surginet line items as well as pricing for any new P-files submitted.
  • Provide proactive audits of the Surginet system.
  • Complete audits focusing on charge capture and revenue opportunities.
  • Provide annual compliance and line item review of the Surginet system.
  • Coordinate corrective actions as necessary with the OR Managers and team leaders.
  • Provide charge capture activities for optimal compliance and reimbursement.
  • Provide assistance for projects identified as requested by OR Director or Managers regarding Surginet.
  • Educate new staff on Surginet and update and reeducate staff on any new functionality of the Surginet system.
