About The Position

The Revenue and Reservations Manager is responsible for maximizing room revenue and yield penetration through proper management of room inventories, analytical and technical knowledge of hotel reservations systems and front office systems for both Meadowood and Southbridge properties. This position supervises the Reservations team and guides their day in day out scheduling, duties, standards, and results.

Requirements

  • Four year college degree, or related work experience.
  • Minimum three years related work experience at managerial level.
  • Minimum two years reservations sales; two – three years’ hospitality/tourism or customer service marketing experience.
  • Experience within other functional areas of hospitality operations would be a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of our geographic area – Northern California, Napa Valley, and competitive properties and destinations.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Must be proficient in the following software programs: Microsoft- Word, Excel Visual One, Crystal Reports, Front Page.
  • Ability to apply yield management guidelines to optimize occupancy and revenues.
  • Ability to solve complex problem and define yield management guidelines.
  • Ability to function in a multi-tasking role and environment.
  • Excellent planning, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to think independently, to seek out problems, action decisions and discuss results in an open action-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes systems and tools to ensure that revenue is maximized, and financial results are achieved throughout Meadowood.
  • Manages all inventory systems daily (PMS, GDS, meadowood.com, Third Party Booking Systems and Extranets).
  • Ensures that the hotels’ sales and marketing strategies are effectively translated into the inventory systems.
  • Works closely with all booking channel representatives / market managers to ensure maximum use of the channels.
  • Responsible for tracking and understanding all competitors’ pricing through all booking channels.
  • Continuously monitors inventory and rate strategy, making updates to restrictions, oversells, opening inventory flow through.
  • Manages room authorization, rates and restrictions.
  • Builds all rates, packages, and hotel sales strategy information in the hotel’s PMS and GDS systems.
  • Ensures parity of rates and packages across all distribution channels and remedies any issues to ensure compliance with existing partners.
  • Prepares forecasts of revenue, profit, demand and occupancy for rooms (daily pick up, weekly group pace, weekly charts, weekly 30-60-90 day forecasts and budgets by market segment.
  • Prepares information to review in weekly sales strategy / yield meetings.
  • Leads weekly sales strategy / yield meetings to review revenue expectations, progress toward the goals and sales strategy on a rolling 90-day basis with Director of Sales & Marketing, General Manager, and others.
  • Manages all revenue, profit, and demand data associated with rooms and function space.
  • Manages relationships with current OTA partners and evaluates opportunities for potential new partners.
  • Prepares revenue and profit opportunity analysis (business evaluation).
  • Prepares pricing analysis.
  • Prepares monthly tracking reports and maintain accurate and detailed property history and ensure all revenue reporting is accurate.
  • Evaluates competitive pricing trends and strategies.
  • Assists the sales team in setting group ceiling recommendations and other group selling strategies.
  • Oversees that reservationists are effectively selling inventory to guests and adhering to Forbes Five-Star Standards in their written and verbal communication.
  • Promotes and prepares training sessions for reservations and front office staff on pricing and selling strategies.
  • Evaluate ‘Call conversion logs’ and ‘Reservation turn-down’ reports for a comprehensive understanding of current call trends and modify rates accordingly.
  • Ensures reservationists’ accuracy in entering reservations with comprehensive profile details and preferences.
  • Review Travel Agent Production and account productions to identify best practices and strategies.
  • Oversee Travel Agent Commissions and investigate travel agent commission requests.
  • Attend weekly group sales meeting to review group pick-up, cut-off dates, high demand dates and other pertinent revenue items related to sales strategy. Review group block for pickup on a weekly basis.
  • Comply with Meadowood Napa Valley policies on billing, routing, master accounts, A/R accounts.
  • Maintain no-show billing and timely processing of information through properties' Accounting department.
  • Key player in the implementation of new PMS/CMS system.
  • Participates in hotel’s Manager-On-Duty Program, as appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, team members, and other departments.
  • Complete understanding of hospitality terms. Have a working knowledge of all hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Attend or conduct all training/meetings as required by management.
