Revenue Accounting Manager
About The Position
This role is responsible for overseeing the accounting of multiple revenue streams, including the design, implementation, and execution of scalable and effective processes for a more efficient close and control environment, ensuring proper revenue recognition under ASC 606. The position involves reconciling and investigating outstanding accounts receivable balances, as well as reconciling and disputing chargebacks for all AR balances. The Revenue Accounting Manager will collaborate with Operations, DC, Wholesale, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate customer invoicing and collections, aiming for a seamless billing process. Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving deferred revenue calculations, creating and maintaining revenue-related monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries and timely account reconciliations from direct reports. The role also involves assisting with monthly financial analysis and ad-hoc reports, managing and developing the operations of the Revenue Accounting team, and maintaining organized transaction documentation for audits.
Requirements
- 5+ years accounting experience within an e-commerce, retail or CPG environment
- Bachelor’s / Four (4) year degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field required
- 2 years of large-scale ERP experience
- Expert Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc)
- Strong problem solving aptitude. Identify root causes, gather and process relevant information, and make recommendations for solutions
- Ability to effectively analyze transactional level detail in an enterprise resource planning system and articulate the key findings to management
- Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships cross-functionally to effectively make recommendations and implement process improvements
- Action-oriented and solution-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment

Responsibilities

- Reconcile and investigate outstanding accounts receivable balances
- Reconcile and dispute chargebacks for all of our AR balances
- Work with Operations, DC, Wholesale, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate customer invoicing and collections. Collaborating for a seamless billing process
- Review and approve all deferred revenue calculations, ensuring adequate support
- Create and maintain revenue-related monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries, as well as review and approve JEs and timely account reconciliations from direct reports
- Assist with monthly financial analysis and various ad-hoc reports
- Manage and develop the operations of the Revenue Accounting team with full responsibility for day-to-day and month-end functions
- Maintain organized transaction documentation for audits and support internal/external audit processes.
