About The Position

Teradyne is seeking a Revenue Accounting Intern to assist the Revenue Accounting team with period-close activities, contract/order reviews, reporting, and ad hoc requests. This internship offers hands-on experience with revenue processes and U.S. GAAP concepts (including ASC 606) while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and well-documented financial results.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Finance, or related field.
  • Available for an internship during the academic term and/or summer (timing/length based on program needs).
  • Coursework or strong interest in financial accounting and U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong logical and problem-solving skills; able to learn new concepts quickly and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to revenue recognition/ASC 606 is a plus.
  • Experience with pivot tables and lookups preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the review of customer contracts, sales orders, and assist with documentation to help ensure revenue recognition aligns with policy and ASC 606 concepts (with guidance).
  • Assist in month-end/quarter-end close tasks, including preparing schedules, updating trackers, and assisting with reconciliations (deferred revenue, unbilled, and related accounts).
  • Compile and validate weekly/monthly reporting (bookings, backlog, revenue), investigate variances, and summarize results for the team.
  • Help maintain data quality across revenue-related reports by performing checks, resolving discrepancies, and documenting outcomes.
  • Participate in forecasting and planning processes by gathering inputs and assisting with basic review (orders, revenue, and related metrics).
  • Assist with preparing backup for audits and internal requests by organizing revenue documents, following documented processes, and meeting deadlines.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Operations, FP&A) to gather information and help resolve questions, escalating as needed.
  • Learn and follow internal controls and documentation requirements; assist SOX-related evidence collection as applicable.
  • Contribute to process improvement/automation efforts by mapping current steps, proposing ideas, and assisting with testing and documentation.
