About The Position

Peterson Companies is hiring a Revenue Accountant to handle accounts receivable and tenant accounting activities. The role involves processing daily deposits and tenant cash receipts, communicating with tenants about gross sales and account matters, preparing tenant notices, completing billing tasks, assembling monthly closing reports, and maintaining digital documentation. The position is based at 4100 Monument Corner Drive, Suite #300, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. The listed salary range is $70,000–$75,000.

Requirements

At least 2–5 years of accounts receivable experience.
Understanding of the commercial real estate industry.
Ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions.
Ability to provide exemplary customer service and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
High levels of integrity, work ethic, and dependability.
Ability to work with a team and independently, communicate tactfully, and approach challenges positively.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree preferred.
Experience with real estate accounting software preferred.

Responsibilities

Retrieve daily deposits.
Enter cash receipts and post them to tenant accounts.
Communicate monthly with tenants by email or written notice to collect gross sales information.
Prepare and mail tenant default letters.
Prepare and mail tenant rent increase letters.
Assemble monthly closing reports and tie report balances to other reports.
Bill late fees and mail late-fee notices.
Bill tenant accounts for direct tenant billings and mail statements.
Scan deposits, letters, monthly closing packages, and billings into document-tracking software.
