About The Position

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for the daily reconciliation of hotel revenue and cash across a multi-unit hotel portfolio. This role ensures that revenue posted in the property management systems ties out accurately to bank deposits, credit card settlements, and general ledger entries each day, providing the finance team with timely, reliable visibility into cash position and revenue integrity across all properties. This is a high-volume, detail-intensive role suited to someone who thrives on daily deadlines, cross-system reconciliation, and portfolio-wide consistency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally in hospitality, multi-unit retail, or another high-transaction-volume environment.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliation workbook design).
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage daily, recurring deadlines across a large portfolio.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort working with high volumes of transactional data across multiple entities/properties.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hotel PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Otelier) and understanding of USALI revenue categories.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or a comparable multi-entity ERP.
  • Experience with Coupa or similar AP/payment platforms.
  • Exposure to FloQast or other close-management software.
  • Prior experience in a multi-property or multi-entity hospitality, restaurant, or retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily revenue and cash reconciliations across all hotel properties in the portfolio, comparing PMS revenue reports to bank deposits, credit card batch settlements, and merchant processor statements.
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies between reported revenue, cash receipts, and GL postings on a same-day or next-day basis; escalate unresolved variances to property or accounting leadership.
  • Reconcile daily cash deposits against bank activity (ACH, wire, and merchant deposits) across multiple bank accounts and entities.
  • Post daily revenue journal entries to the general ledger (Sage Intacct) and ensure proper coding by property, department, and revenue stream.
  • Monitor and record credit card chargebacks, disputes, and merchant fee deductions; ensure timely resolution and correct GL treatment.
  • Support month-end close by tying daily reconciliations to period-end revenue and cash balances; assist with close checklist items in FloQast or similar close management tool.
  • Partner with property-level accounting/front office teams to troubleshoot PMS-for-bank variances and improve daily close discipline.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline daily reconciliation processes across the portfolio.
