About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Revenue Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate revenue recognition, customer billing, account reconciliations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong experience in revenue accounting, ASC 606, month-end close, and financial reporting. Experience supporting audits and working in a fast-paced environment is highly preferred. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition and U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm) preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, government contracting, professional services, healthcare, or recurring revenue environments.
  • Experience with deferred revenue, contract assets, and subscription-based revenue models.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly revenue recognition process in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Review contracts, statements of work, and amendments to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Analyze performance obligations, contract modifications, and variable consideration.
  • Maintain schedules for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract assets.
  • Prepare revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and revenue-related analyses.
  • Ensure financial results are accurately recorded and reported in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and Customer Success teams to ensure accurate customer invoicing.
  • Review billing schedules and contract terms to ensure alignment with revenue recognition policies.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.
