Reuse Centre Attendant

City of EdmontonEdmonton, AB
CA$23 - CA$29Onsite

About The Position

The Reuse Centre passionately champions sustainability by accepting donated items from Edmonton residents, free of charge, and thoughtfully redistributing them to organizations and individuals. This vital initiative achieves three key objectives: fostering a culture of reuse and highlighting its many benefits, facilitating the equitable distribution of resources back into the community, and significantly reducing landfill waste. By spearheading a circular economy, the Centre plays a crucial role in the Waste Services Branch's 25-year strategy, contributing directly to the ambitious goal of diverting 90%25 of waste from landfills. Our Reuse Centre Attendants are instrumental in this mission, meticulously managing and organizing accepted items. They also cultivate an engaging public space where valuable items find new homes and the community is actively encouraged to embrace the educational components of our comprehensive waste management system.
