About The Position

This role encompasses two distinct lead positions: Returns Lead and Receiving Lead. The Returns Lead is responsible for efficiently and effectively inspecting and processing returned furniture, solving issues that arise during the return process, assigning return codes, communicating with HomeStores and Distribution Centers about errors, presenting findings to Senior Managers, and ensuring returned items are properly designated and disposed of. This role also involves gathering customer information to improve the customer experience and performing customer service functions, with accountability for the accuracy and relevance of data for returned products. The Receiving Lead is responsible for loading and unloading products by hand and with powered equipment from trailers and containers to storage locations in a fast-paced Distribution & Fulfillment Center. This role requires reliability, enjoyment of a physically active warehouse environment, and the ability to work independently as part of a team. The work is fast-paced and self-driven, allowing for a high level of independence.

Requirements

  • Efficiently and effectively inspects and follows through to ensure that every furniture that has been returned is properly process.
  • Responsible for solving any potential issues that may arise during the return process, such as proper return code assignment, errors that lead to the return of merchandise.
  • Responsible to follow up with HomeStores in order to communicate the root cause of errors or potential errors and support the creation of a sustainable and error free process.
  • Responsible to follow up with HS Distribution Centers in order to communicate the root cause of errors or potential errors and support the creation of a sustainable and error free process.
  • Responsible to present to Senior Managers the returns results and research findings.
  • Responsible to reconsolidate systems to make sure returned items have the proper designation code and are properly disposed and allocated in the system.
  • Responsible of gathering information from customers to improve the customer experience and will be required to follow through with Customer Service functions.
  • Accountable for the accuracy and relevant data for products returned.
  • Reliable and enjoys a physically active warehouse environment.
  • Working independently but as part of a large, motivated and high achieving team moving large product in a dynamic distribution center setting.
  • Work is fast paced and self-driven allowing for a high level of independence throughout the day.
  • Ability to learn our basic computer and warehouse / distribution center scanning systems.
  • Ability to obtain a valid, company-issued Forklift or Powered Industrial Vehicles license where required.
  • Basic counting, math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend the meaning of basic communications.
  • Ability to reliably work a defined full time schedule

Responsibilities

  • Track and compile return data with the purpose to indentify areas of concern as well as possible root cause.
  • Physically observe and inspect items returned after delivery to ensure proper return coding.
  • Gather information from customers about potential reasons for the return of merchandise.
  • Solve any potential issues that may arise during return process.
  • Clear out the systems to make items ready for the billing department.
  • Properly identify products by item number.
  • Accurately identify return scores.
  • Addresses driver issues regarding load out, such as pieces missing, hardware missing, cross dock items and items returned.
  • Communicate with customers as needed to gather additional data as well as to perform customer service functions.
  • Reports findings to immediate supervisor in order to correct errors and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate the Company’s Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
  • Transfer materials within the Warehouse facility as needed.
  • Frequently transport loads of up to 100 pounds and occasionally manipulate up to 250 pounds.
  • Operate Forklifts or other powered vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Make safety for yourself and your co-workers a top priority at all times.
