Participates in various aspects of the returns department to effectively move product through the returns area.

Responsibilities

Picks merchandise loads or stacks products on carts and/or pallets
Engages in packing and wrapping products and materials to protect them from damage during shipment
Distributes merchandise to appropriate areas where allocated
Involved in de-tagging, re-labeling, and sorting products
Sorts and expedites movement of product by zone according to date and records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity of product distributed
Packages, ships, and records information pertaining to product to be returned to the vendor
Prepares accurate paperwork for all returned product and compiles files of the list of products handled
Operates company machinery as applicable to department and according to all operating and safety instructions
Keeps assigned work areas in a clean and orderly condition
Helps unload trucks when merchandise is delivered
Reads customer orders to determine items to be gathered
Accurately and efficiently assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or carts
Accurately records the number of items picked and reports any discrepancies to the immediate supervisor
Inspects products prior to packing and wrapping and places rejected products aside
Efficiently packs products for shipping
Accurately scans products being packed and notifies supervisor of any discrepancies
Checks all orders to ensure accuracy
Loads boxed product on pallets and wraps for shipping, ensuring proper shipping information is on the pallets
Constructs boxes according to required dimensions and order needs
Ensures a steady supply of boxes is available for packers and the shipping team
Loads and secures load bars for outbound shipments
Provides assistance to the shipping department as needed, including staging and loading pallets
