About The Position

Built in 1961 as a private family getaway, Minnesuing Acres (aka The Lodge) has transformed into a secluded business retreat center and gathering spot for special events and family occasions. Located in northwestern Wisconsin on Lake Minnesuing, our 35-room facility offers large meeting spaces, delectable menu offerings and year-round outdoor and indoor activities. Job Summary: The Retreat Center Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a variety of events at our unique location in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a knack for creating exceptional guest experiences. This position is full time and expected to work an average of 30-40 hours per week, including holidays and weekends as needed. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Event Coordinator or similar role in the hospitality industry.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours in accordance with group schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in event planning and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate events such as corporate retreats, weddings, and special occasion / social gatherings.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences and provide tailored event solutions.
Manage event logistics, including venue setup, menu options, activities, entertainment, and transportation.
Coordinate with various departments (e.g., culinary, housekeeping, maintenance, activities) to ensure seamless event execution.
Monitor event budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions.
Handle any issues or emergencies that arise during events with professionalism and efficiency.
Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Effectively promote and sell services.
Coordinate collection and distribution of event related paperwork for billing.
