About The Position

Schneider Electric has a hybrid opportunity for a Retirement Plans Specialist in one of the following hub locations: Chicago, IL ; Dallas, TX ; Raleigh, NC ; Boston,MA or Nashville, TN. The Retirement Plans Specialist is responsible for aspects of the governance, administration, compliance, and financial oversight of the Company's U.S. and Canadian retirement benefit programs. This role manages pension administration activities, annual audits, regulatory filings, and third-party vendor relationships to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements. The position serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, external auditors, actuarial consultants, trustees, and third-party administrators, while supporting an exceptional participant experience for plan members. The position also facilitates and completes certain regulatory filings for U.S. health and welfare benefit plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in pension administration, retirement plan compliance, benefits governance, or a related field.
  • Experience managing U.S. qualified retirement plans, including defined benefit and 401(k) plans.
  • Familiarity with Canadian pension plan administration and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience coordinating financial audits and regulatory filings for retirement benefit plans.
  • Experience working with third-party administrators, actuaries, auditors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ongoing administration of U.S. and Canadian defined benefit pension plans.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with third-party administrators (TPAs) to ensure accurate and timely administration of pension benefits.
  • Oversee participant experience activities for defined benefit pension plan members, including issue resolution and service delivery monitoring.
  • Support pension plan wind-up and termination activities, including coordination with service providers, legal counsel, and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Lead the annual financial audits of U.S. pension and 401(k) plans, coordinating activities with external auditors, trustees, and service providers.
  • Facilitate annual financial audits of Canadian pension plans in partnership with Canada Finance, service providers and external auditors.
  • Support the annual corporate audit by providing retirement plan-related financial information, documentation, and audit support.
  • Facilitate the preparation, review, submission and distribution of Form 5500 filings and Summary Annual Reports (SARs) for U.S. retirement and benefit plans.
  • Manage the preparation and completion of other U.S, pension compliance items including Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) premium filings and Annual Funding Notices.
  • Manage and submit provincial regulatory filings for Canadian pension plans, including Annual Information Returns (AIRs), Pension Benefits Guarantee Fund (PBGF) assessments, contribution and funding reports, pension plan financial statements, and Statements of Investment Policies and Procedures (SIPPs)
  • Prepare, review and submit required filings for U.S. health and welfare plans, including CMS Retiree Drug Subsidy (RDS) applications and reconciliations, Prescription Drug Data Collection (RxDC) reporting, Medicare Part D disclosures, and Gag Clause Prohibition Compliance Attestations.
  • Support the annual renewal process for Pension Trust Liability Insurance.
  • Maintain effective internal controls and documentation supporting retirement plan governance and compliance activities.
