About The Position

This role is responsible for managing and growing a book of retirement plan clients while developing the depth of expertise and client ownership that defines a senior consulting career. This position involves designing and implementing retirement plan structures, building trusted plan sponsor relationships, and actively communicating the broader OneDigital value proposition to both prospective and existing clients. This role works with internal service teams to deliver an exceptional client experience and drive long-term retention.

Requirements

  • Growing track record of success in retirement plan consulting and/or sales.
  • Strong understanding of ERISA regulations and fiduciary best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated discipline maintaining client and pipeline information in a CRM; Salesforce preferred.
  • Proven success with multi-tasking and managing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business and technology environment.
  • Continual learner mentality, able to adopt new solutions and interpret the impact of new laws for clients.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive client information, including personnel and financial data.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Business travel up to 25%.
  • Must be licensed to allow registration as an IAR of OneDigital Investment Advisors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field (preferred), or relevant experience in retirement plan services.
  • Must possess a valid relevant securities license.
  • 5+ years of retirement plan related experience required.
  • 2–5 years of industry-related sales or consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Business development may be a formal or informal expectation of this role depending on market and team structure.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of OneDigital's full suite of employer-facing solutions in order to effectively position the right resources for each client's needs.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to introduce other OneDigital verticals and service lines to both prospective and existing clients, deepening the breadth of value delivered and strengthening overall retention.
  • Where a formal new logo sales goal is assigned, develop and manage a pipeline of prospective clients through referrals, COI relationships, convergence leads, and other business development channels, guiding prospects through the full sales cycle and closing new business against defined targets.
  • Coordinate or support RFP fulfillment processes, leveraging market, regional, and national resources to present OneDigital's capabilities and value proposition effectively.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and prospect-facing engagements to build market presence and generate opportunities.
  • Serve as the relationship owner for an assigned book of clients, building accountability for client satisfaction, retention, and overall relationship health.
  • Develop and execute relationship strategies tailored to each client's goals, plan design, and organizational objectives, with increasing independence over time.
  • Lead or participate in client meetings, strategic reviews, and plan sponsor communications, coordinating with Client Relationship Managers and other internal specialists to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Maintain continuity of client relationships through transitions in team structure, plan design, or business conditions.
  • Provide retirement plan consulting to clients — including plan design, benchmarking, investment menu analysis, and fiduciary guidance — performing this work directly and/or coordinating delivery through Investment Consultants and other internal specialists as the team model supports.
  • Leverage market, regional, and national resources to support participant education and engagement; coordinate with Employee Engagement Managers for group education delivery and connect participants to Financial Advisors for individual financial planning needs where applicable.
  • Advise clients on regulatory and legislative developments affecting their plans, drawing on internal compliance resources and plan administration specialists to support analysis and recommendations.
  • Facilitate fiduciary training for plan sponsors, leveraging national resources and best-practice frameworks where available.
  • Where applicable, utilize OneDigital's internal retirement plan administration team to support testing, plan amendments, compliance strategies, and other plan administration needs.
  • Coordinate the activities of the client service team — including Client Relationship Managers, Investment Consultants, Employee Engagement Managers, and Financial Advisors — to deliver a cohesive, high-quality client experience.
  • Identify gaps in service delivery and proactively redirect internal resources — whether local, regional, or national — to maintain client satisfaction and operational continuity.
  • Build proficiency in OneDigital's team-based service model, actively developing the ability to leverage specialists to increase capacity and client impact.
  • Conduct or coordinate benchmarking due diligence to ensure clients' plans remain competitive and compliant with industry standards.
  • Stay informed of ERISA regulations, fiduciary best practices, and relevant legislative changes; apply that knowledge to client plan recommendations and communicate relevant updates proactively.
