About The Position

The Retirement Plan Consultant is a client-facing, production-driven role responsible for driving new retirement plan adoption and onboarding employers into PEO, PEP, and MEP solutions. This role partners directly with business owners and senior decision-makers to assess retirement plan needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and guide clients through implementation. Incumbent will own the full sales lifecycle from initial referral through onboarding while meeting defined production goals and delivering a high-quality client experience. The role also provides ongoing consultation to existing clients, including plan amendments and optimization strategies.

Requirements

  • FINRA Series 6 and 63 required within corporate established timelines
  • FINRA fingerprinting required
  • 5+ years of experience in the retirement plan industry (sales, consulting, or account management)
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and meeting production goals
  • Strong understanding of retirement plan design, pricing, and investments
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality client presentations

  • Experience in PEO, PEP, or MEP markets preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drive new retirement plan adoption through a structured, consultative sales process
  • Meet or exceed defined production metrics, including sales volume, conversion rates, and pipeline activity
  • Manage and maintain an active sales pipeline, ensuring timely progression of opportunities
  • Evaluate prospective clients by assessing company structure, ownership, and retirement plan objectives
  • Recommend and position retirement plan solutions aligned with client needs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on 401(k) plan design, compliance, pricing, investments, and administration
  • Explain plan features including eligibility, vesting, safe harbor provisions, and employer contributions
  • Prepare and present plan design illustrations and pricing comparisons
  • Analyze and communicate fee disclosures clearly and transparently
  • Review prior plan documents and explain implications to clients
  • Deliver professional virtual presentations to business owners and C-suite stakeholders
  • Communicate complex retirement concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner
  • Manage the end-to-end sales and onboarding process, including documentation, timelines, and client expectations
  • Coordinate document collection, paperwork completion, and signature tracking
  • Ensure all required information is gathered to support successful implementation
  • Provide ongoing consultation to clients regarding plan amendments and optimization opportunities
  • Analyze current plan provisions and recommend appropriate changes
  • Manage amendment processes, including documentation and coordination with internal teams
  • Deliver a high level of client service with strong responsiveness and follow-through
  • Maintain service level expectations, including timely responses and proactive follow-up
  • Ensure a seamless and positive client experience throughout onboarding and beyond
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, pipeline updates, and progress tracking
  • Manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Implementation, Client Service, Compliance, and Testing to ensure successful execution
