About The Position

The housekeeper is responsible to see that all areas are clean, sanitary, and orderly and restock supplies. This is a full-time, day shift position with hours from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with no weekends or holidays required.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to be flexible
Excellent customer service and people skills, demonstrate compassion, patience and understanding with a willingness to do whatever it takes to provide the highest level of service
Completes assignments on time and to the satisfaction of the customer
Maintain confidentiality of information and conversations
Ability to perform all physical aspects of the job
Able to maintain good working relationships with other personnel
No certification required
Requires own vehicle to get to cleanings on campus

Responsibilities

Sweeping and mopping floors
Cleaning furniture, equipment, trash cans, windows, mirrors, and toilets
Emptying wastebaskets and taking trash to dumpster
Restocking resident rooms, public restrooms and ancillary rooms with paper towels, toilet paper and soap
Restocking and keeping storage room clean and orderly
Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations
Adheres to sanitary, safety and infection control procedures for cleaning, storage and handling of materials and equipment
Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis
Gives on the job training for new staff members
Maintains confidentiality of all residents
Observes resident’s rights
Performs other and related duties as assigned
Attends in-services and department meetings
Work in cooperation between other departments
