About The Position

This role focuses on promoting CUA deposit products and services, administering in-house IRA and Legal Review programs, and providing guidance to branch personnel. The specialist will assist members in meeting their financial needs, with a particular emphasis on retirement and investment services.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • Ability to multitask while processing detailed and highly technical information.
  • Ability to integrate account details and POAs/Trust/Conservatorships/KUTMA/Organizations information to meet member needs accurately and in accordance with fiduciary duties/federal guidelines/tax & probate law.
  • Strong decision-making skills to review and manage accounts and code them properly.
  • Sustained attention to detail while working through frequent interruptions and staying on task.
  • Ability to integrate member information within the needs of the account with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in a timely manner within set IRS and tax reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to cross-train department staff and branch employees on details of IRA & Retirement Investment services.
  • Work involves significant personal contact with others, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all components of the IRA program, including quality assurance of IRA transactions and maintenance, and administering the IRA Resource Team program.
  • Facilitate the Legal Review program by providing guidance on member requests involving fiduciary accounts, reviewing documentation, and advising on account setup and ownership.
  • Support the West Douglas Member Service department, contributing to deposit goals and assisting members with CD, IRA, and fiduciary account needs. Administer Medallion Stamp services.
  • Promote CUA deposit products and contribute to the CUA deposit goal. Administer product education through new employee training and sales meetings, and provide product support and advice to staff.
  • Monitor and manage decedent account processes, including reviewing and coding accounts, guiding staff and members on maintenance, contacting beneficiaries, handling payouts, and promoting fund retention.
  • Promote and support Retirement and Investment Services or similar programs for the benefit of CUA members.
  • Handle IRS and tax reporting compliance through records monitoring and file testing, ensuring timely completion and distribution of tax documents, and completing any needed tax form corrections. Employees shall be trained annually on BSA/AML Compliance Program requirements related to their job functions.
