About The Position

The Retail Warehouse Associate II works at The Country Store in Spokane Valley, Washington, serving customers and supporting retail and warehouse operations for farm, pet, and home products. The role includes customer assistance, merchandise stocking, product assembly, deliveries, equipment and facility upkeep, and dispensing propane and kerosene. The associate is expected to work safely, maintain a clean environment, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, adapt to feedback and new processes, and maintain punctual and reliable attendance. The position is available part-time or full-time. Full-time schedules are 40 hours per week; part-time schedules are 16–32 hours per week. Schedules may vary, and availability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed is required. Store hours are Sunday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Monday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–7:00 PM. Compensation is $17.50–$21.00 per hour. Benefits are available after eligibility requirements are met; offerings vary by employment status.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license, or at least 18 years of age with a valid commercial driver’s license, to operate a commercial motor vehicle weighing 10,001 lbs. GVWR.
Maintain a safe and insurable driving record.
Be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for operating a commercial motor vehicle.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and frequently walk, bend, stoop, and kneel.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to high standards, particularly in providing outstanding customer service.
Proven dependability and reliability.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving and sending emails.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a retail or warehouse setting.
Product knowledge in one or more of these areas: feed, seed, pet food and supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing and footwear, lawn and garden, or wild bird supplies.
Experience dispensing propane cylinders.
Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and understand their merchandise needs and preferences.
Assist with customer orders by loading and unloading products as needed.
Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse.
Assemble products and displays.
Deliver products to customer delivery points.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, including delivery trucks and forklifts, and on facilities.
Dispense propane and kerosene.
Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
Safely and regularly operate a vehicle to make deliveries and visit worksites, businesses, and customer locations.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Receive feedback, adapt to new processes, and continuously develop skills.
