About The Position

The Retail Tire Technician performs tire services, vehicle inspections, and related shop duties. Work includes mounting and dismounting tires, checking air pressure, balancing and rotating tires, repairing flats, and ensuring lug nuts are tightened to the correct torque specifications. The technician inspects vehicles according to VIR training expectations, recommends safety and preventative services, and supports customer satisfaction through clear communication. Additional duties include receiving and organizing products, following the Quick Guide Parts Ordering procedure on Treadnet, performing oil changes as required, assisting with store opening and closing, and completing end-of-shift cleaning and work with manager approval. The role also supports facility and warehouse cleanliness, may drive customers or shuttle vehicles, assists with phone and counter duties, and provides lube shop or alignment support as assigned. The position is hourly and full-time.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a vehicle maintenance shop.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Perform retail and commercial tire work, including mounting and dismounting, air pressure checks, balancing, tire rotations, and flat repairs.
Ensure lug nuts are tightened to the proper torque specifications.
Inspect vehicles according to VIR training expectations.
Maintain customer satisfaction and communicate effectively with customers.
Recommend safety and preventative services to customers.
Receive products at the location before putting them away.
Review the Quick Guide Parts Ordering procedure on Treadnet.
Perform vehicle oil changes according to VIR training standards as required.
Assist with opening and closing the store, including end-of-day duties.
Complete end-of-shift duties, including cleaning and finishing work, and obtain manager approval.
Maintain and clean the facility, including sweeping, emptying garbage cans, organizing shop supplies, and cleaning the parking lot.
Organize the warehouse by grouping like tires, facing inventory, keeping rows tidy, and helping maintain a safe operating area.
Keep workspaces, bay areas, Commercial Tire vehicles, and customer vehicles clean.
Provide shuttle service and/or serve as a customer courtesy driver.
Assist with phone and counter duties as needed.
Perform other assigned duties, including oil changes, lube shop support, and alignment support.
