About The Position

The Retail Team Member at the Memphis Zoo is responsible for obtaining/receiving merchandise, providing world class guest service, processes purchases & transactions, and maintains an appealing retail space in any assigned retail outlet in the park.

Requirements

• Must be able to provide world-class guest service.
• Must be able to process purchases and transactions.
• Must be able to maintain an appealing retail space.
• Must be able to stock shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise.
• Must be able to set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise to promote sales.
• Must be able to stamp, mark, or tag prices on merchandise.
• Must be able to obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.
• Must be able to answer customers' questions about location, price, and use of merchandise.
• Must be able to interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Must be able to wrap and bag merchandise.
• Must be able to total merchandise price and tax to determine final bill amount.
• Must be able to process cashless payments.
• Must follow all company payment integrity policies and procedures.
• Must be able to keep records of sales, prepare inventory, and order merchandise.
• Must comply with sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements.
• Must maintain a clean and safe work environment and perform job safely.
• Must demonstrate reliable attendance and work ethic.
• May be assigned to any retail outlet in the park based on business needs.
• Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.
• Must be nice.

Responsibilities

• Stocks shelves, counters and tables with merchandise.
• Sets up advertising displays and arranges merchandise to promote sales.
• Stamps, marks or tags prices on merchandise.
• Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
• Answers customers' questions about location, price and use of merchandise.
• Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Wraps and bags merchandise.
• Totals merchandise price and tax to determine final bill amount.
• Processes cashless payments.
• Follows all company payment integrity policies and procedures.
• Keeps record of sales, prepares inventory and orders merchandise.
• Complies with sanitation, ServSafe and safety requirements.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment; performs job safely.
• Demonstrates reliable attendance and work ethic.
