About The Position

The Retail Team Leader plays a pivotal role in driving the success of retail operations by leading and motivating a team to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve sales targets. This position requires overseeing daily store activities, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth. The Retail Team Leader acts as a bridge between store management and staff, facilitating clear communication and implementing company policies effectively. They are responsible for monitoring inventory levels, managing staff schedules, and resolving customer issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels. Ultimately, this role is essential in creating a seamless shopping experience that aligns with the brand’s standards and business objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a retail environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service principles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with staff training and development programs.
  • Familiarity with sales analysis and reporting tools.
  • Previous experience in a multi-unit retail environment.
  • Certification in retail management or leadership training.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop retail team members to achieve individual and store performance goals.
  • Manage daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and merchandising standards.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling to optimize coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, share best practices, and motivate staff.
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
