About The Position

Help Launch a Brand-New America's Thrift Store! Are you a hands-on retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building successful teams? This is more than just a Retail Supervisor position—it's an opportunity to be part of something exciting from day one. As a Retail Supervisor, you'll play a key role in opening a brand-new America's Thrift Store, helping establish the culture, train the team, and create an outstanding shopping and donor experience from the very beginning. If you're passionate about developing people, leading by example, and making an immediate impact, we'd love to have you on our opening leadership team. Working alongside the General Manager and Assistant Store Manager, you'll help build a store that delivers exceptional customer service, strong operational performance, and a positive, team-focused culture. Every day brings something new as you help shape the success of the store and the people who work there.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of leadership experience as a Supervisor, Team Lead, Key Holder, or similar retail leadership role.
  • Passion for coaching and developing others.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable leading multiple priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Help recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and train a high-performing retail team.
  • Coach, mentor, and recognize team members to encourage growth and accountability.
  • Foster an engaging, positive, and values-driven work environment.
  • Assist with scheduling to ensure proper staffing and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty when needed and confidently lead daily operations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer and donor experiences by setting the standard for friendly, fast, and accurate service.
  • Resolve customer and donor concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Lead by example and coach team members on service expectations.
  • Oversee the daily operation of the sales floor and front-end.
  • Ensure merchandise is clean, organized, priced accurately, and easy to shop.
  • Create attractive merchandise displays that encourage sales.
  • Support promotions, seasonal initiatives, and special events.
  • Perform quality audits to maintain company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to improve merchandise flow.
  • Supervise register operations and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Complete opening accounting and banking responsibilities as assigned.
  • Help protect company assets through strong loss prevention practices.
  • Promote a safe workplace by following OSHA guidelines and company policies.
  • Ensure operational procedures are consistently followed throughout the store.
  • Escalate concerns appropriately while helping resolve issues professionally.
