About The Position

The Retail Store Processor/Sorter provides general store maintenance, including janitorial duties, and responds to the donation door. The position supports Goodwill’s mission to transform lives and communities through education, training, and employment. The processor sorts donated goods, prepares clothing and textiles for sale, prices items, and identifies unusable items for salvage. The role also supports store operations, coworkers, and people with disabilities or barriers to employment.

Requirements

No minimum education requirements.
Demonstrate teamwork, accuracy, customer service, quality, fashion sense, ethics and trust, product knowledge, oral communication, and safety and security competencies.
Work with individuals who have disabilities or barriers to employment and participate in supporting their goals.
Demonstrate a positive, role-model attitude and commitment to Goodwill’s mission.

Responsibilities

Perform general store maintenance and janitorial duties.
Respond to the donation door.
Sort donations into categories, including household items, games, toys, holiday items, and miscellaneous goods; sort clothing by gender.
Hang clothing and textiles, and tag them with quantity, gender, and date when needed.
Price saleable items in two places and price vintage and formal wear separately for the sales floor.
Identify and label unusable donations as salvage, following applicable procedures.
Meet daily rack production quotas and complete weekly production reports.
Attend meetings as required.
Follow safety and fire-prevention policies and report safety violations.
Support Goodwill’s mission and the activities of other departments.
Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
Support the safety and well-being of employees and provide support for helpers.
Support accessibility of services and facilities for people with disabilities and barriers to employment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
