About The Position

This position plays a key role in furthering Goodwill's vision and mission in the retail area. The purpose of this position is to provide for general maintenance of the store, which includes all janitorial duties at the location. The position also responds to the donation door and fulfills Goodwill's mission statement.

  • Sorts through donations which may include household items, games, toys, holiday items, wares and other miscellaneous donations.
  • Hangs clothing and tags textiles.
  • Prices items and follow procedures for identified salvage.
  • Lift -- push/pull while standing - up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sometimes over 100 pounds.
  • Carry -- push/pull while moving - up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sometimes up to 100 pounds.

  • Knowledge of current prices of new goods on local retail stores.

Responsibilities

  • Sort through donations and place into gender categories.
  • Sort all goods brought to the goods area into categories: Household, Games, Toys, Holiday items, Miscellaneous.
  • Hang clothing and textiles on rack and tag, if needed, quantity and gender, date.
  • Price good items in two places.
  • Salvage unusable donations and label as such “salvage”.
  • Meet getting rack quotas out daily.
  • Separately price vintage and formal wear for sales floor.
  • Do weekly productions report.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and reports violations.
  • Support mission statement and activities of other departments.
  • Follows all safety policies and fire prevention procedures.
  • Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
  • Responsible for safety and well-being of all employees.
  • Support the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment and other barriers to persons with disabilities and barriers to employment.
  • Provide support for helpers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
