About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the functioning and efficient operation of all departments, processes, and services rendered. The role involves managing subordinate supervisors who oversee all employees in their assigned store, and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. The manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. The manager is also responsible for the financial performance of their assigned store.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Internet Software; POS System; Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or 4-year degree; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting a positive culture within the store.
  • Directing and supervising employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
  • Opening and closing store.
  • Responding to security issues during and after business hours.
  • Covering for other managers/buyers in their absence.
  • Ensuring all shifts have coverage/scheduling.
  • Acting as a public relations representative.
  • Setting up or scheduling community activities at the store.
  • Interviewing for positions when needed.
  • Providing customer services regarding cashier, customer, and employee issues.
  • Working with each department head and personnel to reach efficiency and smooth operation of each department.
  • Facilitating movement of product from receiving to merchandising in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Overseeing transfer of merchandise between stores.
  • Checking/entering and approving employees’ time.
  • Dealing with any problems or issues that may arise.
  • Making known any maintenance repairs needed to include seasonal maintenance requirements.
  • Facilitating efficient use of staff where and when needed.
  • Working with buyers and staff to help inventory, stock, and merchandise products.
  • Helping in departments as needed.
  • Helping customers with their shopping needs.
  • Operating forklift as needed.
  • Helping facilitate quick service and exits for customers at registers.
  • Enforcing safety, health, and security rules.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performing all other duties as required by management.
