About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Store Manager to lead associates, assist customers, and drive store sales. The role involves overseeing all aspects of business operations to maximize sales and profitability, delegating store activities for smooth daily operations, and leading, training, and developing store associates. The manager is responsible for providing a positive shopping experience, safeguarding company assets, building community relationships, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, and implementing operational and merchandising directions from corporate headquarters. This position offers the opportunity to connect with people daily, create memorable customer experiences, and build a career. Managers may also be required to provide background information for specialized licenses to sell alcohol and/or tobacco in certain jurisdictions, with failure to comply potentially leading to demotion or separation.

Requirements

  • Ability to focus on results and build strong relationships with team members is required
  • Excellent communication skills are required
  • Ability to regularly lift, up to 40 lbs. (occasionally 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height is required
  • Ability to handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Ability to comply and/or qualify for specialized licenses to sell alcoholic beverages / tobacco products where required

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Retail management experience is preferred

  • Implement operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from our corporate headquarters
  • May be required by the local jurisdiction where a store is situated to provide certain detailed background information necessary to obtain a license to sell alcoholic beverages / tobacco products
