About The Position
The Retail Store Manager oversees the daily operations of the store and is accountable for sales performance, the team, and store standards. The role represents Squishable in front of customers and helps shape the store experience by building customer relationships and creating a unique, exceptional, fun, and memorable environment. The ideal candidate is an organized, adaptable, confident, and engaged leader who is passionate about the brand and developing people.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, challenging, customer-facing environment.
- 2–5 years of customer service experience.
- Passion for people and the ability to empower, inspire, motivate, teach, and develop team members.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to balance priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback and recognition.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to work with and manage diverse teams empathetically and intuitively.
- Collaborative, engaged team player.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to transport stock as required, including lifting cartons up to 25 lbs.
- Must be 18 or older.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the store team, including hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training.
- Set and execute store business strategies in partnership with the Regional Manager.
- Open and close the store, sometimes independently, and ensure accurate start-of-day and end-of-day cash handling.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure merchandise is restocked promptly on the sales floor.
- Maintain high standards of merchandise presentation.
- Keep the store team enthusiastic and motivated and ensure a fun, memorable environment.
- Support all types of point-of-sale transactions and respond to customer inquiries.
- Follow company policies, practices, and safety standards.
