Retail Store Cleaning Associate
About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care. Responsibilities include the operation of the scrubber and buffer, dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The associate will adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. This position also involves being cross-trained to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs. The role models established customer experience practices, supports a positive store culture, and maintains all floor care cleanliness standards. The associate will also maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms. Adherence to all company policies concerning Health and Safety, including refilling essential items, is required. The associate will support and respond to Front End coverage needs, adhere to merchandising philosophy and signage standards, and participate in store recovery as needed. Additionally, the associate will adhere to all operational and loss prevention controls, communicate accurately and effectively, and adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures. Participation in safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and run floor buffer and scrubber
- Capable of multi-tasking
- Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
- Strong communication skills: verbal and written. Listens and responds appropriately
- Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
- Standout colleague, working effectively with peers and supervisors
- Early morning availability needed, starting at 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

- Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
- Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store.
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Maintain all floor care cleanliness standards.
- Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store (Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms).
- Adhere to all company policies concerning Health and Safety (includes refilling of all essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End).
- Support and respond to all Front End coverage needs.
- Adhere and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
- Adhere to all operational and loss prevention controls in accordance with company guidelines and policies including shrink reduction.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
- Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including Associate meal and break period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
