About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking a Retail Store Cleaner to maintain a clean and organized store environment, with a primary focus on floor care. This role involves operating cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and buffers, performing tasks like dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. The cleaner will also adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards. Additionally, this position requires cross-training in multiple areas of the store to support business needs, embodying a positive store culture, and maintaining cleanliness standards across all store areas including the sales floor, restrooms, and backroom. The role also involves adhering to health and safety policies, supporting front-end coverage, upholding merchandising standards, participating in store recovery, and adhering to loss prevention controls. Effective communication with management and associates, adherence to labor laws, and participation in safety awareness are also key aspects of this role. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Maintaining a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care.
Operating the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
Adhering to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
Cross-training to work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs.
Maintaining all floor care cleanliness standards, including the maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store (Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms).
Adhering to all company policies concerning Health and Safety.
Supporting and responding to all Front End coverage needs.
Adhering to and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiating and participating in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Adhering to all operational and loss prevention controls in accordance with company guidelines and policies, including shrink reduction.
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Adhering to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including Associate meal and break period policies.
Participating in safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment.
Performing other duties as assigned.
