About The Position

To extend the museum’s educational facilities, enhance the visitor’s experience, and generate funds to support the museum through sales and outstanding customer service. This position requires 10-29 hours per week, with weekdays, some evenings, and weekends required.

Requirements

• Some college preferred
• Retail experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and people skills.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Able to stand for long period of time.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Access to transportation in order to work at both locations of the Museum.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assistances customers by providing knowledgeable and accurate information on shop merchandise and museum related information.
• Operates the computer using the Point of Sale (POS) program.
• Opens and closes the Shops on time and handles opening and closing procedures on the POS.
• Assists with special events and Shop volunteers.
• Understands and follows completely all Museum and Shops policies and procedures.
• Assists in maintaining an attractive shop with cleaning and display.
