About The Position

This is a part-time retail store associate position requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week, with potential for additional hours during peak sales seasons, including Saturdays. The role is crucial for customer service, merchandising, money handling, and sales operations within the retail store.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to safely perform all duties.
  • Ability to safely stand, walk, pull, push, and lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds to a height of 5 feet, manually, with team lift, or with material handling equipment over an eight (8) hour shift.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 1-3 years related experience with appropriate certificates and/or diplomas. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail sales procedures, including merchandising, cash handling, customer service, and organization.
  • Availability for a minimum of 15 hours per week, including Saturday shifts.
  • Ability to work additional hours during high sales volume times.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of assigned retail store operational procedures and processes.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, ingredients, and nutritional values.
  • Prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
  • Keep store spaces clean and well-organized, ensuring no outdated or damaged products are displayed (except for "hurt" products).
  • Demonstrate strength in sales and merchandising to create an appealing sales environment.
  • Accurately record sales transactions, maintain store records, handle money, and operate the register system (including processing various payment types, refunds, and providing change).
  • Order and maintain inventory of products for sale.
  • Take phone orders with accuracy.
  • Rotate product using a first-in, first-out method to ensure freshness.
  • Provide gift-wrapping services and package products appropriately for transport.
  • Understand and communicate verbally and in writing with customers.
  • Resolve customer questions and ensure satisfaction by contacting Customer Service or the Assistant Plant Manager.
  • Adhere to all warehouse and company policies and procedures, including Safety Guidelines, GMP’S, QA Checklist, and Production Standards.
  • Maintain a positive attitude ("Can Do" and "What Can I do to Help").
  • Be a positive contributor when interacting with Asher’s team members and customers.
  • Perform specific tasks as requested by Asher’s Management team.
