About The Position
The Seasonal Peak Associate role at Ocean State Job Lot is a temporary seasonal, part-time position supporting essential store operations, including register support, freight receiving, and product merchandising. The role contributes to a positive customer experience and efficient store operations in a fast-paced environment, including during peak seasons and in newly opened stores. Associates provide customer service, process transactions, assist with merchandise and purchases, maintain displays and stock, receive and organize deliveries, and help set up and move fixtures. They also support store safety, cleanliness, and organization, working independently and collaboratively while communicating improvement opportunities to store leadership. Work is primarily in a climate-controlled environment, though conditions vary between sales, stockroom/receiving, and operations/office areas. The role involves frequent movement and physical tasks, including lifting up to 35 pounds regularly. Requirements
- Basic math and reading skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service, build friendly rapport by exemplifying the T.R.E.A.T. model, and foster a welcoming environment.
- Operate a cash register efficiently, handle transactions accurately, and help customers with product inquiries, item locations, and purchases.
- Promote company customer initiatives, including donations, loyalty programs, and special offers.
- Maintain accurate displays, restock assigned areas, and meet OSJL merchandising standards.
- Unload deliveries according to company processes, organize merchandise, and prepare it for the sales floor.
- Safely set up and move fixtures as needed.
- Collaborate effectively and independently to achieve goals, and proactively communicate improvement opportunities to store leadership.
- Understand, support, and implement store safety protocols.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and safe environment through regular cleaning and janitorial tasks.
