About The Position

Nordstrom Rack is hiring seasonal team members for Sales, Cashier, Stock, and/or Fulfillment roles at the Chicago Avenue location. Team members work in a fast-paced, high-energy retail environment to make the customer experience quick, easy, and enjoyable while helping customers find merchandise and deals. Applicants can discuss their preferred role during the interview process. Depending on the role, work includes assisting customers and processing transactions; maintaining fitting rooms, sales floors, and stockrooms; supporting inventory and merchandise ticketing; receiving and processing shipments; fulfilling, packing, and shipping customer orders; and providing general store support. Team members may also help set up special events, complete markdowns, organize backroom areas, and relocate store fixtures. The position requires flexibility to work a schedule based on business needs. Stock Support or Fulfillment team members must frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The hourly pay range is $17.45–$18.15. The position may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses. Benefits eligibility may depend on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.

Responsibilities

Create a smooth fitting-room experience by greeting customers, taking them to fitting rooms, and sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
Encourage and support customer participation in initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
Keep stockrooms organized and complete inventory processes, including checking in and accurately ticketing merchandise.
Maintain a sales floor that is ready for customers by re-merchandising and straightening merchandise throughout the day.
Assist customers with a variety of transactions in a friendly and seamless manner.
Use technologies required in the store environment.
Resolve customer situations in a timely and effective manner.
Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
Fulfill customer orders promptly and in accordance with quality standards.
Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
Help maintain clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, completing markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
