About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Part Time Retail Shoe Runner to join their team. This role is responsible for retrieving shoes from stock, processing returns, and assisting in shoe departments. The ideal candidate will have a customer-first mentality, a team-oriented approach, and a willingness to learn and adapt. As an employee-owner, you will be expected to take pride in your work and maintain honesty and integrity in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Sunday.
  • Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available every other weekend.
  • Average hours per week is 20 hours.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), preferred
  • 1-3 months of related retail/sales experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Effectively retrieve shoes from back stocks and transport them to the staging area for sales associates
  • Process unpurchased items and customer returns to their correct locations while maintaining an organized work environment to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Assist in Men’s, Women’s, and Youth shoe departments as needed
  • Proactively engage customers with a warm, welcoming demeanor and offer immediate assistance
  • Ensure all necessary technology and devices are prepped and functional prior to the start of each shift
  • Partner closely with Specialty Shop Managers to identify and address urgent department needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present information clearly to customers and team members
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across all levers of the organization
  • The ability to perform basic calculations
  • Ability to work assigned schedule, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the leadership team
