About The Position

Scheels is seeking a full-time Retail Service Shop Technician to diagnose, maintain, and assemble customer and store equipment. This role involves working with a variety of merchandise including bicycles, exercise machines, sporting goods, and more. The technician will also be responsible for ordering parts, filling tanks, maintaining records, and assisting with deliveries. A clean driver's license and willingness to obtain DOT certification are required. The ideal candidate will have mechanical knowledge and be able to interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.

Requirements

  • Clean, valid driver's license
  • Willingness to obtain DOT certification
  • Meet Scheels driving standards
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
  • Follow all safety procedures and perform job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment. Equipment may involve bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise in a Scheels Store
  • Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts
  • Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
