About The Position

The Retail Security Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of all employees assigned to the Security department, including performance management. This role involves managing and overseeing assigned areas to maintain a safe environment for employees, vendors, and personnel, while supporting security needs and acting as an integral part of facility operations. The supervisor will establish working relationships with local police and fire departments, as well as facility reports. This position requires demonstrating and abiding by Andy Frain Services Core Values, operating principles, and maintaining 100% compliance with staff training. The supervisor will observe and report activities and incidents to ensure the security and safety of client property and personnel, possessing and maintaining a professional image with strong leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Customer service skills for tenant and guest interactions.
  • Familiarity with CCTV/control room operations.
  • Ability to write clear incident reports.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid (or ability to obtain).
  • Guard card/license as required by state.
  • Flexible for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mall or large retail environments.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention and theft deterrence.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the duties of a Security Officer in accord with post orders and company policy.
  • Ensures quality service and positive interaction with customers, greeting all visitors, vendors, and employees while maintaining standards of excellence in presentation and professionalism, and ensuring staff does the same.
  • Provides lead direction at assigned client site(s); enforces security/safety programs and ensures post orders are followed, established rounds are completed, and adequate reports and logs are filed daily and weekly.
  • Develops and implements security procedures and compliance with facility policies and procedures and applicable stated and federal laws. Maintains a working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures and regulations; responds immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help, determines course of action, notifies appropriate authorities and assists as needed.
  • Manages knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV system computers, and the Micro-Lite System. Ensures the continuous and safe operation of all elevators and access doors. Maintains contact with authorized personnel/contractors responsible for maintenance and upkeep of these devices.
  • Operates equipment including portable radios, telephones, copy and fax machines, computers and tools. Conducts daily inspections of all vehicles assigned to the job site and notes any damages for immediate repair to maximize unit usage.
  • Counsels and disciplines personnel as appropriate; seeks advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meets personally with employees and documents counseling and disciplinary actions.
  • Assists in the training of Security Officers and Shift Lead Officers, and reviews post orders ensuring Guards have competent knowledge of assignments.
  • Communicates with Operations Manager daily and weekly regarding account performance and Security Guard performance. Communicates daily and weekly regarding security and safety issues/changes that need to be implemented.
  • Assists in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated.
  • Works in conjunction with company management or designated company representatives to ensure adequate security coverage of all posts.
  • Inspects posts as scheduled and meets with Staff to outline tasks and responsibilities. Ensures Staff sign in and out for their scheduled shifts accurately for every shift.
  • Meets with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by Director of Security and Operations Manager.
