About The Position

The Retail Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, employees, and visitors within a high-traffic retail mall. This position requires strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and day-to-day operational needs. Officers conduct routine patrols, enforce property policies, deter criminal activity, and work closely with mall management, tenants, and local emergency responders.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license (if required by site)
Ability to obtain and maintain all required state security licenses and certifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent observation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working with security technology, including CCTV, access control, and report-writing software
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a large retail property
Ability to climb stairs and patrol multiple levels of the facility
Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Capable of responding quickly during emergency situations
